What do you expect from a *** company of illegal immigrant workers, building this TV in California. Hisense started up and started selling their TV at 60" $900. In 2 months that 60" became $300. That alone should tell you what their company is, crap! They removed their 4 year 4k tv warranty in early 2017. That's because within a year they break, and they found that out in less than 4 months they are losing money by people shipping tv's through the mail. Hisense solution, they think you should buy a new TV every year. Like people do with their phones. At least the phone gets better features, not same *** product each year.

Now to contradict myself a little. I have used my hisense 55" literally everyday all day since late November 2014. I would say it runs 12 hours everyday with Saturday/sundays literally 24 hours. It's got issues, about 5 mins to turn on since day 1. Usually about 10 mins before the controller connects (gyro bluetooth, stopped working Nov 2017 and they stopped making the gyro). (Btw once it went no way to access menu) side buttons [input, enter, channel up and down, volume up and down, power button]. At 15 mins you can finally change the input if on the television mode. This is why I leave it run.

Now to discuss why mine has lasted so long. I have made 3 fixes to my tv and fixed about 10 others. I have noticed some boards are poor quality. Like a lazy worker and swap to cheaper parts. Video board, kinda jammed in there, sound board over laps and you will need to replace some transistors that literally touch the other board. This is why you have sound but no video. Hence unplugging hdmi and back in doesnt work, but power off and on does. The sound board is frying the video board. The early signs are poor video quality like watching crt tv and about a 2" bar at bottom or sometimes top of screen. How the boards are layed usually it's the bottom. If they actually took the time to hire an engineer and not some young kid out of college I see an easy layout better for the boards, requires frame adjustment.

So in summary stick with a company that offers a 4 year warranty and stands by it. Sure it's going to cost you 600-****, but would you rather pay 300 every year to match a sony that would normally run 5 years. That's $500-$900 savings. Or test your luck and get a hisense to last longer than 3 years.

Btw hisense now has their hands in too much, they tried to make other electronics, a dehumidifier I saw the other day, warranty is same lacking. They know their products fail horribly from poor quality and design. Hisense should be considered the quality of North Korean product.

Reason of review: Bad quality.
