Received a Hisense TV for Christmas. In April it stopped turning on (yes, it was plugged into a working outlet).

I submitted the problem to the customer service page of their website, and got a standard form reply that they received the complaint. They marked it "new". Two months later, the status of the complaint is still "new" with absolutely no follow up of any kind, despite several other emails and addendums I sent them. The person the gave me the TV as a gift lost the receipt, so the store did not take it back.

Hisense simply ignored me completely. NEVER buy Hisense!

My tv's picture doesn't work anymore it turns on but you can't see anything or hear anything. I lost the receipt so I know they won't take it back, and the worst part is is that I have only had it for a year!!

Can you share with me where the smoke was coming from? Thanks, I am a fire investigator and am looking into a fire that may have been caused by one of these.

Just happened to me tonight. Hisense TV sparked, smoke everywhere.

I just had a hisense 42 inch television go up in smoke and fire out of the top of tv, there is a problem with these brands and are going to kill someone if not reviewed or recalled.

My Hisense is turning on an off and the volume , plus the TV menu comes on and starts changing on its own!

I purchased 2 Hisense(we call them nonsense in my home) televisions on Black Friday 2011. Dumbly I didn't purchase the store warranty as I have never ever had to use one before and the tv's each came with a one year manufacturer's warranty.

The 32" started to smell like smoke within 3 days. I returned it to the store (30 day policy) and exchanged it for a Samsung. The 40" worked like a charm for about a month. Suddenly it wouldn't come on.

I let it rest for several days unplugged and it worked. Next day, wouldn't come on. I called Nonsense and it took 2 weeks for me to reach anyone. They said they would send me the parts.

After 3 weeks of waiting, I call again. I begin to leave messages with no return. I send emails, no return. Finally I reach someone and they apologize and promise me the parts would be shipped.

I recieve the parts a week later and was told to call them back to schedule a technician. It took another two weeks of calling and emails before they send one. Just this past Saturday (Aug 4) a technician comes and changes out the mother board. I sit with my family and watch tv for a while.

I turn it off and we go out. When we return, it doesnt come on. I call back and they were pretty speedy about sending the parts and the technician came today. I'm afraid to turn the set off.

My fingers are crossed. Wish me luck.
